"Fantastic B & B"
We spent two nights here while travelling around New England and have to say this was the best B&B we have ever stayed in. The hosts Lynn and Brian couldn't do enough for us, they made us feel so welcome, recommended places to visit and eat and even made dinner reservations for us. The inn is beautiful, so well maintained inside and out. We had a lovely room at the back of the inn overlooking the lake and mountains and the sunsets were wonderful. The breakfasts were delicious as were Lynn's cookies. Can't finish without mentioning their lovely dog, Newton, he was a real gent! Would highly recommend this inn to anyone visiting New Hampshire. Hope to return one day.
“Best place we've stayed anywhere!”
This was only our second time staying at the Ballard House and it felt like home as soon as we arrived. The house is beautiful, welcoming, and spotless. Brian & Lynn are the perfect hosts and work hard to make their guests visit enjoyable and comfortable. I could go on and on about the rooms, view, food, etc....but you can read other reviews and get the idea of how great of a place this is to stay. I can't speak highly enough of our visits to the Ballard House and would recommend it to anyone.
If you make plans to spend only one night here, do yourself a favor and stay longer; you won't want to leave!!!
"Best trip ever!"
This was our first trip to the Ballard House Inn! We had stayed at other B&B's in the Meridith area, but the Ballard House in was the best of them all. The Ballard House Inn had to be the cleanest place in which we have ever stayed. Brian, Lynn and Newton were the best hosts that we could have hoped for, Our stay was just fabulous. Thank you Brian and Lynn!

Had a wedding to go to in Meredith NH. Ballard House was a Lovely place to stay! Brian and Lynn were caring, kind, great to meet! Loved Newton the dog as well. Our room was large, clean, well decorated and the sleep was great! Breakfast was plentiful and delicious! We were up on the 3rd floor, had a great view of the lake and mountains. Would definitely go back!!!!!
"Perfect, even the second time..."
This was our second visit to the Ballard House and we are already booked for next year. But this time we actually feel like we are going back to stay with old friends. We can't imagine staying anywhere else during Bike Week. These ratings say it all as this place is simply fabulous in every way. Brian, Lynn and Newton (their beautiful dog) are the ultimate hosts and every little detail is attended to. I could go on and on about the amenities...the delicious homemade breakfast, the afternoon snacks, the complimentary coffee, beer and wine, the beautiful views from the back porch, the meticulous cleaning jobs by the ladies but I think what we most enjoy are our easy (and more often than not humorous) conversations with Brian and Lynn. If your thinking about booking..don't think. They will not disappoint.
"We toot our horn from NY to you!"
This was our 4th stay at Ballard House B&B. And were booked to go back next year. I can not choose which stay was best, and I CAN NOT BOOST enough about the hospitality we are served from Brian & Lynn. They are so diverse to accommodate to any personality. Yes, we are the bikers that roll in, one by one to meet up with others. And every time, Brian & Lynn all but, roll out the red carpet for us! They never let their guard down with their up most warming perfections.... even if we ask them too. They take the time to sit with us, laugh with us, and make us feel right at home! The food is delicious and ever part of that house is always meticulously spotless! Brian & Lynn truly know how to make certain that you are welcome in their home, that in itself says it all! See you next year my favorite B & B!! Jodi & Bill Butera, Auburn New York
“Wonderful NH Bed and Breakfast”

My husband and I just returned from four nights at the Ballard House Inn and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The rooms are spotless, the view of the lakes and mountains from the wrap around porch is exquisite and Brian, the Innkeeper makes a great breakfast and is attentive to his guests' every need. The lovely lakeside town of Meredith is a short drive from the Inn and offers shops, restaurants and many outdoor activities. We attended a wedding in Moultonboro with the accompanying reception in Laconia and were midway between both events. We toured Lake Winnepesaukee on the Mt. Washington cruise boat and were able to board right nearby. An then, or course, there's Newton, the resident golden retriever, a truly magnificent dog with a wonderful disposition. We couldn't have asked for more!

Brian and Newton the dog are great hosts in this beautiful, immaculate b&b. I was glad Ballard Inn House is located out of Meredith town itself, it is such a peaceful spot. Brian makes an awesome breakfast, and is always up for a chat and to help you plan your stay. Highly recommended.

Brian and Newton (an amazing golden retriever) made our stay such an enjoyable experience. Brian was so hospitable and attentive to our every need. He truly made us feel at home. The house, built in 1784, is charming and very well kept. The rooms are immaculate and very comfortable. Watching the sunset from a swing on the back porch is breath-taking. Enjoyed delicious breakfasts while conversing with guests. Offers complimentary beer, wine, coffee and soda. Great location - close to the lake and downtown Meredith. This is a must stay B&B.... we highly recommend you book a stay, you will not be disappointed!!
“Excellent in all ways at Ballard House”

My husband and I stayed for two nights this March 2013. Lynn and Brian were the perfect hosts.
They tried to anticipate our every need and had great suggestions about the area for us. Their breakfasts were fantastic. The inn is charming and feels like it is in newly renovated condition. The views are wonderful. We had the perfect stay.
“A Real Treasure”

The Ballard House Inn is a treasure! The hosts, Brian and Lynn clearly love what they are doing; they are loads of fun to talk with, and provide a great balance of engaging and leaving guests to their own activities or inactivities, We felt so welcomed when we arrived, so relaxed while there, and so wistful about leaving. Hmmm, sounds like all the signs of a perfect stay!
Our hosts were a great resource for restaurants and things to do. The Inn is truly lovely and lovingly cared for. It is pristine and the guest rooms and common areas are tastefully decorated, creating an atmosphere of relaxation. Everything from amenities to beds and bedding, and luscious breakfasts are clearly selected with care and attention to detail. The mountain and lake views from the dining room and back porch are hard to pull your eyes from. The common areas are inviting and there are complimentary beverages in the living area.
The Inn is easy to find, conveniently located, yet away from the town center; it was very quiet even though it sits on a well traveled road. We visited in March, and found it a great time to visit this lovely area; plenty of nice restaurants, and many fun outdoor activities to enjoy. Can’t wait to go back!

We found the Ballard House on line. It truly is such a great B & B. Lynn and Brian were wonderful hosts. There were so many "extra" nice touches. The breakfasts were delicious and their recommendations for restaurants outstanding. The rooms were so quaint and cozy. The views on the back farmers porch sitting on the swing were breathtaking. We loved it so much we are getting all our married children gift certificates for this coming Christmas! Can't wait to go back to see Brian and Lynn and of course Newton! Miss you guys already!!
“What a gem!!”

What a delicious find! We serendipitously stumbled upon this lovely historic B&B, owned and operated by gracious hosts (new owners since May 2012) Brian and Lynn. Great history - Annalee Dolls used to be manufactured in their barns. Sadly, we only had one night booked - just my 6 year old son and I, but can't wait to return as a family to stay in one of the two room suites. The premises are immaculately well kept, clean and well appointed. And if you are so inclined, a glass of wine, coffee or tea awaits you in one of the sitting rooms, to enjoy in front of the fire on comfy couches. Spectacular views, close to Gunstock, shopping and restaurants. And their enormous golden Retriever, Newton, is gentle, sweet and quiet.
Brian and Lynn clearly love their work and make the house welcoming and fun. So happy to have found this place. Highly recommend!
“The absolute best!”

We were looking for a last-minute place to stay for a night in the Lakes Region after a long day of driving, and from the minute we called for a reservation until we checked out, the whole experience was wonderful. Brian was so friendly, welcoming and attentive. The house is stunning and although it's 250-some years old, you would never know it from the beautiful renovations and modern amenities--but still retaining the New England charm (not to mention, kept impeccably clean). We only stayed for a night (wish it could have been longer!) but truly felt at ease and like we were in our own home. Enjoy a complimentary beer, wine, coffee from the swing on the back porch with a view almost too picturesque to be real. I can easily see why this was rated the top B&B in the Meredith area on TripAdvisor. Stay here and you will not be disappointed. Hoping I can return again soon.
“You must stay here at the most hospitable B&B around town!”

This is most definitely the top B&B's surrounding Meredith/Lake Winnipesaukee area. From the moment it was booked until we checked out everything was impeccable. Brian, the owner's hospitality, is incomparable to any. The house was incredibly beautiful and the room we stayed in was so quaint, nice and very clean. Every morning the breakfast was delicious from bacon, french toast, granola in yogurt, fruit, quiche and more (every morning's meal was unique). We enjoyed listening to the record player in the living area, Brian's dog Newton, as well as watching the sunset over the lake and mountains on the back porch swing! Brian also gave us great recommendations on restaurants, and a wonderful kayaking place down by town, which we had an amazing experience there as well. Overall, this B&B is the most hospitable one we have ever been to and cannot wait to return. Everyone should definitely consider stay here when you visit. You will not regret it. Enjoy :)
Thank you Brian for making our trip so incredible. Looking forward to coming back!

This NH lake area is gorgeous, and there is no better place to enjoy it than the Ballard House Inn. The view from the extensive porch is to die for; Brian, the innkeeper (on his own, as Lynn was away when we visited), is one of the friendliest, most accommodating people we've ever met; the breakfasts are outstanding (and healthy); the rooms are so immaculate that the old saying,"One could eat off of the floors," applies. Last, but not least, is Newton, the Ballard House Inn's dog, a good will ambassador for sure. People who like dogs will love Newton. And people who are not comfortable around dogs will change their minds once they have met Newton!
All around, this B&B is a winner.
“Amazing B & B”

This quaint B&B was one of most enjoyable stays we have ever had!!!! We love New England and this house was every bit of just that. Well maintained, so clean and cozy, and the hospitality was far above and beyond our expectations. The house had that "old world" charm but with many upgrades such as brand new bathrooms and flat screen TV's.The veiw was breath taking from the farmers porch swing. Brian and his wife went well out of their way to make us feel comfortable and loved to chat with us. It was like a home away from home. We got to meet some wonderful people who stayed the same weekend as us and that just made it all that much more special. Even Newton, the beautiful golden retreiver that lives in the house made me want to stay and pat him. He's a lucky dog. At breakfast the next morning we all sat around a rectangular table and food was ordered to our individual liking. It was bacon and cheese omlets with homemade hash browns for us with fresh fruit cups to start. Complimentarty beverages were avaliable at anytime of the day. We want to thank them so much for a wonderful stay and we hope to stay again very soon!
